LaserHair Removal Introduction

Introduction to
Latisse

Everyone wants long, luscious eyelashes, but constantly applying several coats of mascara can get frustrating. At Aviva Cosmetic & Laser Clinic, we provide Latisse in Toronto. Say goodbye to spending hours looking in the mirror applying the same product over and over again—Latisse® offers a prescription-strength growth serum to give your lashes a bold, voluminous look. It is the first prescription product to treat inadequate lashes—it’s believed to prolong the active eyelash growth phase. It’s clinically proven to deliver lashes that are fuller, longer, and darker at 16 weeks.

What is Latisse?

Latisse is an FDA-approved drug (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution, 0.03%) prescribed to lengthen, thicken and darken eyelashes. It has the same main ingredient as a glaucoma drug called Lumigan.

Some people using Lumigan for glaucoma were surprised to find that they developed fuller, darker eyelashes. This desirable effect inspired the drug’s use for cosmetic purposes.

Latisse® is believed to prolong the anagen phase, which is the active growth phase of the eyelashes.

What to expect from a Latisse application

You will be greeted by our aesthetician and guided on how to apply the Latisse serum you choose. After that, you will apply LATISSE once-a-day yourself each evening to the base of the upper eyelashes. Simply follow the basic guidelines outlined by your aesthetician and your results will come gradually over time.

We recommend that you take a “before” photograph of yourself before beginning your LATISSE treatments. Most patients begin to see results in about four weeks. Taking additional photographs about every four weeks will help you see the full effect of your eyelash transformation.

There is no recovery or downtime after using Latisse. You are recommended to stay out of harsh sunlight for the day but you are instantly ready to go out and impress the world with your new look!
